You can plant cucumbers indoors around the last frost of the year. However I have had better luck planting them directly in the ground about two weeks after the last frost. Exact dates will depend upon your climate zone.

Cucumbers like rich soil, I usually mix in composted manure with the top soil and add a little composted manure around the base of the plant once or twice during the growing season.

Give lots of water and plant at least 4 to 5 feet apart, they spread out once full grown.

Check the bottoms of the cucumbers that are laying on the dirt. Sometimes they will get rot or bleached out. Try to make sure the bottoms stay as dry as possible avoid soaking the plant while watering.

Do not let your cucumbers overgrow. If they are not picked at the right time they can be bitter. If you are noticing the cucumber turning white as apposed to green you waited to long.
